These were already in Latin, but have been updated to include English. The dictionary links to the Lewis and Short which is, of course, an excellent dictionary, and provides the full entry for each of the words. Authors The Authors section of iphoe app is a great tool for reading. History The History section has a bunch of information on Roman history and culture. Fixed a bug when trying to load saved reading location for long texts. The app also generates grammar quizzes and creates flashcards which are great.

Let’s keep the ipbone Renaissance going! What’s new in v3. Once you guess the word, click the card to flip it over and see if you were right. SPQR’s automatic flashcard generation is now more accurate. Flashcards system built right into the app: New text in Latin and English: Corrupted text in Apuleius Metamorphoses Liber I. In short, if you are behind in Latin class or want to learn more, this app will help you get to where you want to be!

Added an option to choose whether the iPad contents list is shown in portrait orientation. The dictionary lookup tools and text of the reference grammars alone make the app worth its price tag in my opinion.

This is essentially a reverse look up of words in the Whitaker’s Words dictionary — please let me know what you think! You can now change the font size in the app. It rhymes with Mini”, is here at last, bringing some wpqr texts for your reading pleasure: Students taking Latin courses will find it particularly useful, I think, because they can study the vocabulary that is most relevant to the text they are reading provided that iphine text is one of those available in the app.

As a bonus, ipjone contains some texts that you can read right in the app. Instant look-up of words while reading now uses the new word parser, dramatically increasing accuracy.

App Review: SPQR (Romans Go Home) – The Library of Antiquity

This has to be the ipone app I’ve ever spent money on. The dictionary entry will pop zpqr and the text will fade into the background. If you love or even like Latin, I can’t imagine you could be disappointed with this app. Added the ability to create flashcards from books or from authors – for example, this lets you find the top words in the writings of Livy.
